Just one for now, we’re on the run today to get Matthew at camp and Josh set up so he can register for classes (have I mentioned the both of us are headed into PhD programs? Yes, the word INSANE is stamped prominently on our foreheads!) and then I have to jet to work.

Lindsey and I have been taking a parent/child swim class and she absolutely adores it. Josh took over for Thursday’s session, while I played Mamarazzi. I just showed this picture to Josh who was aghast at how white he was. I offered to Photoshop a tan, but that’s weirder than a t-shirt tan, I think.

A fun fact: two of the researchers present below were present when both Matthew and Lindsey were born – I’ll let you guess which one’s which!

tallahassee child photographer | ecological babies potluck!

Last weekend I had the chance to attend the Ecological Babies Potluck! Ecological Babies is run by Jen Starks, the fabulous mom who is a cloth diaper dealer vendor (:)) here in Tallahassee. We cloth diapered both kids and I’ve got a special place in my heart for some yummy cloth, and who wouldn’t? Check out the GroBaby diapers she offers!

Anyway, Jen hosted the second annual Ecological Babies potluck and I had a wonderful time! I got to meet some pretty awesome local doulas, including Kristin Nelson Sella, who is hosting a Dancing For Birth session tomorrow (info here), Lindsey Morrow of Mother Rising Doula Services (who you’ll be seeing on my blog very soon!) and Layla Swisher of the The Birth Cottage. Such good discussions and story telling among a group of friends!

There was a yummy smoothie demonstration, Baby Signs and more that I know I’ve forgotten! Such a great time getting to know folks and learn more about what there is to offer in Tallahassee!

tallahassee florida family photographer | Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation 5K Walk!

I am so far behind in my blogging! Classes, moving (yes, moving, urgh!) and a little site redesign have kept me away but I am back! I missed sharing big pictures with you so things are a bit more spread out now. It’ll work, though! You can always go to Casey Yu Photography and hit the right spot – weddings, portraits or blogging. Soon I’ll be adding another box highlighting my neverending geekery as I expand and teach the world about the Internet, one html tag at a time, but in the meanwhile, let’s scroll back a couple of weeks, shall we?

Two Saturdays ago the local branch of the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation sponsored a 5K walk at Tallahassee Community College! It was an awfully humid day, but we lucked out with some nice breezes and a rain storm that paused just long enough for the walkers to come on back. I had the honor of sponsoring and capturing images of this great group. As a diabetic myself, I felt a particular connection with these kids. They’re definitely heros for sure!
