Here’s a not-so-secret secret: Josh and I miss the SF Bay Area – one of the biggest things we miss about the Bay Area is the insanely temperate weather – no humidity or need for air conditioning and very little need for much heat in the winter besides a few selectively placed space heaters. We are adjusting to life in Tallahassee and the sweltering summers, but we are admittedly a little cranky about it!
Today we decided to take the kids out for a little bit to get out of the house and so we went to our local ice cream shop and cooled down. Lindsey is fast approaching age 2 and as fast as life goes by with a baby, it goes by even faster when number 2 is involved. She is a sweet and loving little girl – she adores giving hugs and kisses and loves laughing. She loves putting shoes on your feet – repeatedly – and putting anyone else’s shoes on HER feet. I think she’s in the midst of a growth spurt now because she is hoovering her food more than she normally does.
Being Lindsey’s mom is pretty amazing. The other day we were at our in-laws for dinner – Josh and Lindsey had gotten there earlier and Matthew and I came later – and the moment I came in, I instantly became her favorite person, and of course she showed that to me by whining on and off and demanding lots of cuddles and touch-time. Josh said that she was fine until she saw me, and then remembered that she missed me and why did I leave. Why indeed! Work and other responsibilities that go along with life pull me away, but sweet Lindsey, I will always come back home.
